USHA - United States Housing Authority

Overview- The USHA was an agency created during 1937 as part of the new deal. This Act gave many people jobs. It made the physical environment better and gave many people a better standard of life. The USHA caused slumps in America to not only stop growing, but to decrease. This act provided loans for a national home-improvement program.

Purpose- This plan was designed to lend money to communities and states to begin low-cost construction.

Who it helped- About 650,000 low-income people were given jobs because of this act.
